If a baby needs Special Care

If a newborn needs medical support or is born before 37 weeks they go to NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Babies stay in incubators to keep them warm and may have tubes and wires attached to their face or body . This can be a confronting thing for parents who are not expecting It. But parents can still have lots of contact and care for their babies. πŸ‘ΆπŸΌ
Parents will be supported to have skin to skin and give kangaroo care to help baby get better quicker, promote bonding and learn to breastfeed. 🀱 🦘
There is lots of support for parents available at the hospital or you can hire a doula for more individualised support 🀍
